It seems to me for the past week while curating items for a friend, I realized some things we accumulate to free us does the opposite. For example – buying a LMVH hand bag, as they say “louis” can’t be on the floor. Hermes apparel – dry clean only. I can’t even enjoy fondue without worrying. Today I say love everything you have and use however you desire.
Things we buy can indeed bring us freedom through liberating ourselves on how we use these said things. When you know that items are dry clean only then accept that each time you wear it *special times or not, a dry-cleaning bill comes with it. I am not saying don’t buy “things” that have restrictions. Accepting when purchasing items for therapy or not, free yourself by accepting there may be maintenance or care instructions that comes with it.
This resonates with me when I decided to give up my own vehicle to share one for two people, cutting cost down and the other car was always parked. I hate being late. This week, my team mate has been late a few times because I was not ready, and one was dependent on the other. As I realize this – I never really accepted the fact I have given half the power when we gave up the other vehicle. I had restrictions now and I was struggling until… I accepted the restrictions. It is never too late to free ourselves and experience liberation. Recognizing what restrictions, we choose to have and accepting it asap make all the things much more desirable.
So it is written, it shall be done!
