Let it go! *make it stop already

Yes yes yes it is that song that is now in my head every time someone tells me to let it go - now I am passing it on to you! So sing to your hearts content... sorry not sorry!

A week ago I had the opportunity to train and practice with a dear friend *client. She was working on a weekend as there has been some organizational changes (not new news) that her work demanded more time in the office. Not new to Calgary's economy *I promise I won't get into it - my dearest is quite a success when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle. And who am I to disagree when she wishes to practice between her morning and afternoon shifts. As I was setting up, I heard a loud thug coming from the other side of the building. I asked,

"What's with the echo?"

"Oh, there are only a ten of us on this floor." She responded.

With a confused look on my face, dearest grabbed my hand as she took me to the other side of the building. I could not believe my eyes. See for yourself *play the video.

I felt like I was in a movie, an eerie sound was lingering in my head with a vivid imagination - at one point this place was packed with workers. People who were waiving papers to pretend they were busy, dimming their computer screens as they secretly checked out the newest cat video of the day and people who depended on those days to find themselves out of work. Cubicles emptied and ten people on what use to be a busy floor.

I am not here to make light of the situation, as I have been one of those [people] who have been affected with the economic fall of Calgary. Loosing one thing that you thought was your purpose, to provide for your family, the go to for most operational aspects of the business, or the leader that you are where your happiness *as you thought - was dependent on your followers following you.

Fast forward, my dearest and I sweat *mostly her - after a successful practice. Besos for our goodbyes, could not help but wonder how hard it must have been for everyone who were on that building. Adjusting to change is not easy however, change is the only thing constant. We must adhere to what is now and let go of what we can not control. The shifts in our lives happen sometimes with reason or without. Do not fret as history is made.

"Those who can not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." George Santayana

It is scary - I am sure you agree. Though should you or I be scared? When we face the now and be more aware on where we are - as per my experience, this has made me appreciate more of what I have. What I offer, what my faults are and what I may do moving forward - OPTIONS. Yes we always have options now it is up to us to choose which ones to go along with.

...My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I'm never going back, the past is in the past

Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand
In the light of day
Let the storm rage on

The cold never bothered me anyway!... *[(excerpt) Let It Go lyrics © Walt Disney Music CompanySongwriters: Robert Lopez / Kristen Anderson-Lopez / Emanuel Kiriakou]

Now I am sorry but not really - internalize and listen to this song - do not hold back - just let it go.
